Product Description

When the hopper is filled up to the Overflow pipe,the low density mixture at the top of the hopper content overflows through this pipe,and consequently the density of the hopper content increases.The loading of the hopper than usually continues until the overflow losses become so high that it is no longer economical to continue dredging .The sand which stays in the hopper is regarded as the dredging production.The efficiency ofexcavation by the Drag Head and the efficiency of sand sedimentation in the hopper both influence the dredging performance.

General

High accuracy, fully welded, painted construction with hydraulic cylinder can be used for trailing Suction Hopper Dredger.

The overflow system generally consists of a fixed outer part and a sliding inner part, both tubular. At the top of the moving part is a cone or rectangular-shaped weir, the purpose of which is to obtain a non-turbulent, uniform flow to encourage settling. The moving part is raised or lowered by means of a hydraulic cylinder attached to the fixed part.

The overflow drains excess process water overboard. An effective overflow system induces little turbulence, allowing the mixture maximum time to settle. All overflows are designed with the needs of a specific vessel in mind. A good overflow system can significantly raise net production.
